City Tour

Porto Alegre was originally called Porto do Casal, and the city was born where the historic center is today. Heading towards this neighborhood, the tour visits the Praça da Matriz and the Piratini Palace. The Metropolitan Cathedral, the São Pedro Theatre and the monument to Júlio de Castilhos are also highlights of the tour.
Passing through the beautiful Praça da Alfândega, we can see the Museum of Fine Arts, the Rio Grande do Sul Memorial and the Santander Cultural Center. Before moving on to the Moinho de Vento district, with its famous bars, cafés and restaurants, and an attractive shopping area, the tour passes the Casa do Prefeito, the Mercado Público and the Port, which gave the city its name.
Continuing towards the Ponte de Pedras and the Monumento Açoriano, we see the Casa Cultural de Mario Quintana and the Usina do Gasômetro. Visit the southern region of Porto Alegre and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the Guaíba River and the city. An optional boat trip on Lake Guaíba and the Jacuí Delta Islands could be added to this program, extending its duration by 1 hour.
The museums are closed on Mondays.
